About Mode Warp:
Mode Warp works closely with Akamatsu Industries in creating Neuronoids and battling the threat of Algernon. This blog exists as my own personal outlet for saying things about cartoons when I feel I have something worth saying. I might also talk about video games from time to time.
About me:
I am a child of the 80′s. I grew up watching Robotech on TV and renting Orguss VHS before I knew what Anime was. In the late 90′s when Teknoman aired on UPN and the Sci Fi Channel would had it’s “Saturday Anime” block is when I first became aware of what I was watching. This block of programming along with the delightful selection of Central Park Media and Manga Entertainment one shots at the local video store were integral in building the foundations for my impeccable taste in cartoons.
I have been a paying customer to the money milking machine know as the anime industry since roughly 1998. Riding the wave of the DVD and licensing boom was a fun time to be getting into cartoons. The selection was increasing exponentially each year and I never had to worry about paying 10$ more for the subtitled VHS.
I am over the “Dragonball Z” phase, the “I only watch dubs” phase, the “I only watch subs” phase, the “anime is so DEEP” phase, etc. I like giant robots, I like cartoons that are older than I am, and I like to say cartoon because the nomenclature is not only correct but it also makes the Wapanese squirm.
